Construction and demolition work continue at the Tappan Zee Bridge across the Hudson River, mile 27.7 and will continue through 2019. The work will involve over one hundred pieces of floating equipment and support vessels that will be moored/anchored or transiting between the Westchester and Rockland county shorelines, including the side Channels and portions of the main navigation Channel. Mariners traveling northbound and southbound are advised that the side Channels to the east and west of the main Channel are closed to vessel traffic. Additionally, mariners are strongly advised to stay clear of all construction equipment and support vessels by 1,000 feet or more when transiting the area.
