Louisiana, Old River Lock Closure

Written by Chuck Baier
July 5, 2019

Continuing through July 31, 2019, mariners will be subject to intermittent delays to navigation (up to 12.5-hours) at Old River Lock. The closures will occur during daylight hours between 6:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. The delays are due to necessary work required to install the repaired tainter valve, mooring bits and to make repairs to the floating guide wall. The work will be performed by Lock Personnel and a U.S. Government Maintenance Unit. The Lockmaster, Anthony T. Lindsly can be reached at (225) 492-3333, for up-to-date information. The point of contact for the USACE New Orleans District is Russell Beauvais, at (225) 492-2169.
