Florida, Naval Operations, Riviera beach To West Palm Beach

The US Navy will conduct offshore testing from April 27 – July 31, 2020 with a manned submersible vehicle piloted by two personnel. The submersible will transit on the surface from Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) in vicinity of Riviera Beach west of Peanut Island, south on the ICW to the Port of Palm Beach turning basin. From the turning basin the submersible will be towed by a RHIB out the Lake Worth inlet then south to the operational area. Testing will occur from Lake Worth inlet south to Boynton Inlet from near shore up to 10 miles offshore. Testing may occur 24 hours daily, weekdays only. During this time the submersible will be accompanied by 2 surface RHIBs displaying amber flashing lights. Dive operations with scuba divers in the water may occur anytime during the testing and RHIBs will display diver down flags in the vicinity of scuba divers. RHIBs will be monitoring VHF CH16. Mariners are advised to transit the area with caution and maintain 200 yards clearance from RHIBs and dive balls.
