Florida, Big Marco Pass Dredging

Cavache Inc. has commenced maintenance dredging operations on or about June 22, 2020 in Big Marco Pass, Florida and will continue until approximately September 2020. Dredge MAYA CAELYN is scheduled to dredge portions of Federal Channel in the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway (GIWW), Gordon Pass and Gordon Pass Entrance Channel, and dredging a new, 100-foot-wide Settling Basin adjoining the length of the Entrance
Channel. The dredge material will be disposed via floating and submerged pipelines to a nearshore disposal area approximately 300′ south of Gordon Pass, and extending approximately 4,000′ south on Keewaydin Island. The Portions of the pipeline closest to the dredge will remain floating and will be marked with flashing lights at night. The pipeline will be floating close to shoreline. Boaters are urged to maintain safe distance from the dredge to avoid potential interference with the pipeline.

The dredge MAYA CAELYN may be reached on VHF-FM Channels 16 and 79. Mariners are urged to transit at their slowest safe speed to minimize wake and proceed with caution after arrangements have been made.
