Michigan’s greenest harbor on the Great Lakes, Straits State Harbor is Michigan’s most eco-friendly harbor with eight wind turbines that are anticipated to produce a substantial amount of the electrical energy used to run the harbor. Located just across the Straits of Mackinac from Mackinac Island State Harbor, this harbor gives boaters an opportunity to enjoy the best of both harbors. This harbor is Clean Marina certified.This marina is part of the Michigan DNR reservation system so reservations must be made through the Michigan DNR website. The web address is www.midnrreservations.com or you can call: 1-800-447-2757. or hail on VHF Channel 9.Please note that when making a reservation at a Michigan DNR marina you will be required to provide your boat registration number at the time of the booking.
The Michigan DNR requires that all reservable slips at any state owned marina be reserved through their online system or toll free line with an $8 processing fee per reservation. To change a reservation date or to cancel a reservation made through the DNR there is a $10 charge. Each state owned marina holds a portion of non-reservable slips which are available to transient boaters usually on a first come first serve basis by calling the marina directly.Marinalife will process your request to the best of our ability by contacting the marina directly but due to strict cancellation fees and privacy restrictions Marinalife is unable to make an advanced reservation on your behalf through the Michigan DNR.*** THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO PRIVATELY OWNED MARINAS in MIBoaters arriving after 5PM must contact the harbormaster and notify them of late arrival.
