Meldrum Bay is a favoured destination for pleasure craft and campers from around the Great Lakes and beyond, offering a unique and spectacular reward to the adventurous traveler. Scenic views and beautiful shorelines, coupled with modern services and accommodations make Meldrum Bay a special destination for those who appreciate a quiet, simple get-away. The village is located at the western-most tip of Manitoulin Island, and as you round the last curve in Highway 540 you’ll catch your first glimpse of the waters of the Bay and the sailboats, yachts and fishing boats moored at the docks. Boaters recognize Meldrum Bay as the first Canada Customs port for those traveling east from Michigan and American ports beyond.The Meldrum Bay Marina is well equipped to service seasonal as well as transient boaters. Our deep water access permits the full use of our modern docks, most of which provide electricity. Gas and diesel are also conveniently available. Our Marina Centre includes public-use showers, washrooms, laundromat, a conference room and visitors lounge, and also includes the Custom’s Office. We are a Telephone Reporting Site / Marine, Nexus / Marine, and Canpass / Private Boat location for Canadian Border Services Agency, for international travel. As the first point of entry from the United States, the Canada Customs office is available on a 24 hour basis. Restricted hours may apply in our low season. Seasonal dockage is based on the owner and boat as registered. Sub-letting of slips is not permitted. An extended season is available for a fee, but please note that reduced facilities are available outside of our peak season. Note that all boat trailers must be parked at the nearby Community Hall.The Meldrum Bay Marina and Campground is owned and operated by the citizens of Dawson township, otherwise known as the village of Meldrum Bay. The Dawson Citizen’s Improvement Association is an elected board chosen by the community.
