Did you pick your career as marina manager or did it pick you?

It picked me! Being on the water was always my fun summer job, and I just kept that fun summer job going!

Who taught you how to operate a boat? How old were you when you took the controls?

My dad and my grandfather "Oo-Oo." I took the controls as soon as I could see over the wheel and I'm sure there were some life jackets propping me up.

What is your favorite part about being on the water?

The sounds of the water hitting the hull and the smell of the water.

What is your No. 1 guilty pleasure?

Don't know if it's guilty but scrubbing the bottom of the boat at the beach. I always get yelled at to stop and relax! I definitely take after my dad with that.

In your opinion, what is the most important item to have on board?

Life jackets.

What is one word you'd really hope people would use to describe you?

Kind.

Aside from boating, what is one of your other hobbies?

Snow skiing. Living in Florida makes it a little more difficult but I love the snow.

Name a woman in the marine industry who has had the most influence on you.

I've had the honor to work with amazing women in the marine industry at Miami Beach Marina and Nantucket Boat Basin! One woman I got to work with Jackie Gilman, is proof that women can do anything in this industry. Jackie is a fuel barge operator in Boston Harbor and has done everything when it comes to fueling.

What celebrity would you most like to meet?

If he were still here Walt Disney, the ultimate imagineer.

What has been the most interesting boat that has docked at the marina?

OCEARCH is a vessel that tags and releases sharks, we had them at two marinas, Nantucket Boat Basin and Miami Beach Marina. If you haven't heard of them you should look them up.

What is the last book you read for pleasure?

Make Your Bed William H McRaven

If money and time were no objects, where would like to spend your next vacation?

I would like to do a circumnavigation on the water. I have a long list of places I want to visit and the best way to do it is via the water!
