The city maintains a park on the northwestern end of Fidalgo Island named "Washington Park". This park features camping, boat launching, and majestic views of the San Juan Islands. The most prominent view is of Cypress Island.
Friday Harbor is the social and political center of the region, with a small-town feel and quaint shops. September and October are great times to go without the high-season competition for slips, anchorages and dinner reservations. The San Juan Island Farmers’ Market (www.sjifarmersmarket.com), which in August is slated to move into the Brickworks, a renovated historic commercial building. Some of the world’s best porpoise, seal, bald eagle, and Orca whale watching is found just off the coast of San Juan Island.

Conveniently located a short walk from the charming seaside town of Sidney, British Columbia, Canada where you will find great specialty shops, fine bakeries, nine wonderful book stores, a diversity of fine restaurants, unique cafes, a movie theatre, art galleries plus a full compliment of all services. Sidney is located on the southern tip of Vancouver Island on the Saanich Peninsula. Sidney's main attraction is its position on the Salish Sea. Sidney-by-the-Sea is the gateway to the southern Gulf Islands National Park Reserve, and is a popular eco-tourist destination, with whale-watching, bird-watching, kayaking and scuba-diving
Ganges Marina is within easy walking distance to all of the local amenities. There is no shortage of activities to occupy visitors of all ages. From treasure seeking to night life, summer festivals and arts events, nature walks and boating adventures. Salt Spring Island is the largest of British Columbia's Gulf Islands, the islands extending north of the San Juan chain that themselves extend northward from Puget Sound
Ideally situated in the heart of the Southern Gulf Islands between Vancouver and Vancouver Island. Hike one of the many trails, explore the beautiful Montague Marine Park, which is a short walk from the Marina, or take a trip to Sturdies Bay Village and meet the locals. If you are looking for a bit more solitude, and the wind is not coming from the North or Northwest, you can also anchor out near the beach on the North side of the spit.
Semiahmoo is located across from Blaine, Washington on the south side of the entrance to Drayton Harbor on the north end of the sand spit that forms the S.W. side of the harbor. Hiking and cycling trails and park are all near by. Golf Courses are also available through Semiahmoo Golf.
