After an unforgettable Princess Yachts America Owners Holiday event at the Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo, Fla., three Princess Yachts owners, Tim and Sara Hale, Erich and Kathy Hahn and Charlie and Ela Wachs, continued on a trip together and extended their vacation to the Bahamas. With the help of Marinalife's cruising assistance and reservation services, the trio was able to cross over from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and make their way over to the Bahamas. The group headed to Old Bahama Bay on West End, Bluff House Beach Resort & Marina on Green Turtle Cay and Hope Town Inn & Marina on Elbow Cay all while dealing with unexpected delays and weather unexpected delays and weather but also tons of fun!
The trip crossing the Gulf Stream from Fort Lauderdale to West End started two days late due to bad weather. Ready for some relaxation (and great cocktails!) they took off with the necessities on board that included bottled water, rum and diesel, not necessarily in that order.
The Hahn's voted the Goombay Smash at Miss Emily's Blue Bee Bar on Green Turtle Cay at New Plymouth their favorite cocktail on the trip. One of the most memorable experiences of the trip was the Hale Storm Pub Crawl a tour of the islands best bars aboard the Hale's 30-foot center console. They visited many hotspots including Treasure Cay Beach, Lubbers' Landing, the Firefly Bar & Grill and Nipper's Beach Bar & Grill. Due to his ongoing list of places to visit and having been around the block in the Bahamas for years, Tim Hale was voted trip MVP and deemed the cruise master by the Wachs. Hope Town Inn & Marina's on-site restaurant, Bridget's Rum Bar, was rated a top food spot from the group with their catch of the day never to disappoint. The Hope Town Inn & Marina offered the group the best customer service. The dockmaster helped check the boats on a daily basis checking on AC, refrigeration, lines and fenders, and the very personable and friendly staff made the trio feel right at home. A lot of good laughs and stories were shared along the way (and on the Hales' flybridge) with a great group of adventurous friends to make this trip one for the books
