I have always been around boats. My granddad owned a 70-foot wooden yawl in 1930s and was going to sail around the world. However, the war began and all his visas were cancelled. He passed on his love for the sea to my dad and to me as a boy, as we had several boats growing up and as a kid you always do the tight-spaced jobs. During college, I got involved in project management and had the privilege of working with a gentlemen who won the America's Cup to help build his wine cellars. When working for this organization I learned the best advice which was never say never. I always found a way. I live by that to this day. From then on, I used that philosophy when I began managing many different marinas in the city of Boston.
My wife and I moved down to Miami in 2006 to take care of my mother-in-law and to take a class in marine surveying. Once settled here, I was offered a project management position in Palm Beach, an opportunity I could not refuse.
Bubble gum it just keeps going and going.
Because I have lived in the Northeast and now South Florida, I have two favorite seasons. Up north, I enjoy the fall because the changing of the foliage. Down south, the boat show season (November-March) gets me excited because the marina world heats up and it's back to work full time. The boat shows have their own excitement, and I still love them just like when I was a kid.
Piccalilli relish a staple. I put it on everything from hot dogs to burgers.
I am helping my brother fix up his 55-foot motor sailor right now, which he will use to go sailing around the world in a couple of years. I am an admitted project management junkie and I always have something going on.
Boston College Fight Song. I went to high school in Boston, and I'm also a big Patriots fan too.
Loyal, dedicated, candid. I like to get things done and I'm a project junkie, that's for sure.
Yes, we have completely refinished the pool. Soon to follow is a new members pool pavilion, new E dock and a wave attenuator. Every summer we have some major enhancements going on as I said, I love projects!
