HAVEN HARBOUR MARINA --- located on protected Swan Creek in the authentic watermen's village of Rock Hall, Maryland --- is a true yachting retreat. But when William Brawner acquired the facility in 1986, major modifications including land improvements and the implementation of floating docks completely transformed the property into a top boating resort.

The current president of Haven Harbour Marina, Jamie Brawner, attributes a great deal of the marina's success to the facility's personnel. "We're fortunate because the marina has so many dedicated, long-term employees," Brawner explains. "Retaining the best-skilled individuals so that there is a continuity in customer care is a major goal for us, and it is what keeps boaters returning season after season."

The marina also emphasizes the preservation and celebration of Rock Hall's unique history as a working waterfront. Located onsite and entirely funded by Haven Harbour Marina, the Waterman's Museum includes exhibits that demonstrate this unique way of life. The village of Rock Hall is just a short bike ride or shuttle away, and offers visitors several dining options, including local steamed crabs at Waterman's Crab House and live music at Mainstay on Main Street.

As the boating season approaches in the Chesapeake Bay, the established Haven Harbour brand will continue on its path of growth. After the recent purchase of the nearby Sailing Emporium Marina now called Haven Harbour South --- plans are already underway to create another premier resort and marina, with face dock, electrical upgrades and the eventual addition of an on-site inn, bar and restaurant.
